Walid S. Ali
Walid is the director of datacenter solution architecture team in the influence sales group at the sales and marketing group (SMG). His team has collaborated with key Intel partners and delivered cutting edge datacenter solutions, ranging from infrastructure, to secure and trusted deployment all the way to business intelligence and big data/ Cloudera solutions. Prior to his SMG role, he lead customer enablement teams at DCG which influenced major banking and Telcos customers into expediting their NFV deployment plans on Intel Data centers. Before that, he was the director of ecosystem engineering in the mobility and communications group, Intel corp., where his team established strong partnerships between Intel tablets, the software vendors, and their customers, resulting in major impact on Intel market share in the enterprise tables. Before joining Intel, Walid was a senior manager with a sovereign private equity, Mubadala, an investment entity solely owned by the government of Abu-Dhabi. Walid managed a global semiconductor R&D eco system portfolio. Prior to this role, Walid lead the development of many products across his tenure with Microsoft, Redmond, WA and Intel, Santa Clara, CA, Philips, Eindhoven, the Netherlands.
Walid holds 43 granted patents with USA patent office and more than 40 peer-reviewed technical publications.
He has studied executive management at Harvard business school, and holds a Ph.D. degree in electrical and computer engineering from Drexel University, Philadelphia, PA, USA in 1999. He received his M.Sc. in computer science from the Imperial College, London University, London, UK in 1994 with distinction.
